Tarantula Spider 1505 Drone Flight Test Review

0 1,040

This $25 mini clone of the Tarantula X6 is a pretty good flier in the wind. Its accelerometers can automatically sense and momentarily compensate for wind drift. Find it here http://shrsl.com/?~b2kv

This quadcopter is NOT from JJRC or YiZhan. There is no company name or logo on the box or instruction manual. It is a clone of the X6 in shape only, and is much smaller than the original Tarantula X6. I did not open the case, but it is very doubtful that it has plug in motors, or is V2X2 protocol.

The accelerometer wind compensation ability reminds me of only one other toy quadcopter that I know of with that ability, the 1501 Space Predator. The 15XX number in the names of both of these quadcopters, along with the unique wind compensation ability makes me wonder if they are produced by the same company?

– Great flier, even in the wind.
– Headless mode and one key return.
– Excellent LED lighting. Great night flier.
– Great range. I flew it out past 100 meters.
– Uses widely available 300 to 350mah white connector micro quadcopter batteries.

– Battery door kept popping open during my flights. Door comes with a screw to keep it in place, but I did not feel like using it. A piece of tape would probably work just as well.
