A France-based drone provider just released a new fixed-wing drone that offers a combination of hardware and software innovations fit for survey-grade mapping and other industrial missions.

Last week, Delair announced the global availability of the UX11 fixed-wing UAV following a round of final tests. The drone will be available in more than 70 countries.

“The platform’s enhanced centimeter-level precision along with its efficient operational characteristics make it the most cost-effective solution for large area surveying and mapping,” a company press release notes.

With the launch of the UX11, Delair is setting its sights on the growing mapping/surveying drone sector catering to industrial-level markets – construction, oil and gas, utilities, mining, agriculture and transportation.

  • The UX11 features include:
  • Embedded global shutter camera
  • Intuitive analytics and data reporting tools
  • Post processed kinematic (PPK) capabilities
  • 2.4 GHz wireless and 3G/4G cellular connectivity
  • End-to-end system empowering flights of up to 59 minutes over 500 acres at 400 feet

“The UX11 enables industry-leading performance, GSD and flight range, as well as streamlined maintenance, advantages that all reduce costs,” Delair Geospatial Product Manager Chase Fly said. “The integrated processing capabilities are able to collect, analyze and share data and images in real time and provide users with accurate results that shape critical operational decisions and strategies.”

The launch of the UX11 comes on the heels of several major changes for Delair this year. The company recently inked a commercial agreement with UAV sales/support firm Frontier Precision, launching Delair’s first service centers in the U.S. while also providing a new domestic sales outlet.

Delair American resellers include Allen Instruments & Supplies, AllTerra Central, GPServ Inc., Frontier Precision, Monsen Engineering, Navigation Electronics, Inc., Seiler Instrument, SITECH South, and SITECH Southwest.

In February, Delair launched another high-performance industrial drones with the Delair DT26X LiDAR UAV – the first fixed-wing drone to payload the RIEGL LiDAR sensor.

Last year, Delair achieved a BVLOS flight of 30 miles via 3G cell network, partnering with utility RTE during a power-line inspection mission to optimize the European power grid.
