The UAV Experts performed a flight comparison this past weekend on two batteries that operate the DJI Matrice M200 drone series, the TB50 (6 Cell 4280mAh 22.8V M200 TB50 Intelligent Flight Battery) new longer run time TB55 (6 Cell 7660mAh M200 TB55 Battery). The M210 drone was flown with the Zenmuse XT Infrared camera and the X5S for payload. The DJI CrystalSky tablet and the DJI Cendence Remote Controller.
Once Hurricane Iram passes, and the rain stops, we will perform another test with the XT and Z30 Zoom cameras.
It was a nice cool day, with the temps in the upper 60s. Our MSL altitude on our airport is 1150 ft. With the hurricane Irma in Key West, we had a steady 20 mph with gust over 40 MPH at one point in the flight. We flew both sets of batteries until the helicopter landed itself at the critical battery levels.
The first flight was with the TB50 battery pack and the total flight time was 17 minutes and 19 seconds.
The second flight with the TB55 battery pack and the total flight time was 24 minutes and 3 seconds.
This was the first full run on the TB55 packs. One previous flight the day before we ran them for about 3 min. The TB50 packs have 11 flights on them.
